On July 29, Doppler Finance said its yield infrastructure is expanding to Base. The first asset in that rollout is Coinbase Wrapped XRP, or cbXRP. Later, Doppler expects to support other tokenized financial products on the network.
Doppler is built natively on the XRP Ledger. Its move to Base is one of the first steps in a broader multichain plan. The idea is to let wrapped assets do more than sit in a wallet. They can be borrowed, lent, or used as collateral inside onchain financial applications.
Coinbase issues cbXRP as a token backed one-for-one by XRP. Public reserve data showed about 105.64 million XRP supporting roughly 105.64 million cbXRP in circulation as of July 29. The dashboard updates balances and supply, which gives users a clear way to verify that each wrapped token is fully backed.
Why Base matters for wrapped assets
Base is an Ethereum-compatible network that Coinbase has been growing into a financial services hub. Payments, lending, borrowing, and tokenized investments are all part of that push. Doppler’s integration fits into the same pattern: once an asset is onchain, it can be put to work in lending markets and collateral management.
Coinbase has also been expanding its platform through tokenized stocks, perpetual derivatives, AI-powered tools, stablecoin payments, and onchain infrastructure. More recently, Coinbase Payments and European fintech Spiko introduced stablecoin funding for regulated funds. Investors can subscribe to or redeem selected European UCITS money market funds using USDC and EURC on Base, with near-instant settlement outside banking hours.
Base’s head of growth, Antonio Garcia-Martinez, said the next wave of onchain finance is about making tokenized assets productive. He added that cbXRP is a compelling early use case for this kind of utility.
XRP infrastructure keeps evolving
The XRP Ledger recently crossed one million agent transactions. Those autonomous software agents can pay for computing resources, APIs, and digital services. Ripple’s development framework also combines XRP and RLUSD with programmable spending controls, which points to more automated commercial activity.
Ripple has expanded treasury capabilities for enterprises as well. Finance teams can manage digital assets, track real-time valuations, keep audit records, and oversee fiat and crypto balances from one platform.
Doppler’s Base deployment will happen in stages. Future phases are expected to add support for tokenized assets from other issuance platforms. That means cbXRP is likely just the beginning, not the final shape of the protocol’s multichain strategy.
