NEAR has been one of the stronger large-cap tokens since August. It climbed from below $2 to around $5.25. The primary trend still points up. But the price keeps hitting the same area without closing above it. That area runs from $5.30 to $5.60. It has become the key test for the current move.
The market has tried to clear it before. In late September, NEAR reached about $5.56. In early October, it touched roughly $5.65. Both times, sellers pushed price back down. Each rejection made the zone look stronger. Some traders now call it unbreakable. That may be too absolute, but the repeated failures are hard to ignore.
Why the Daily Chart Still Leans Bullish
Despite the resistance, the daily chart still favors buyers. Price remains well above its main moving averages. A sharp drop to about $4.30 was bought back quickly. That showed demand below the market. Volume has been lighter in recent days, so the market may be waiting for a clean move.
Scenario One: A Clean Breakout
If NEAR closes a full day above $5.65 with strong volume, the ceiling is broken. The next targets sit near $6.00, then the round $6.50 level. A bounce from the $5.00 area would support this view. Volume should expand on the breakout day and hold up on any retest. That would show buyers are willing to defend the new level.
Scenario Two: Another Rejection
If price fails again between $5.30 and $5.60, a pullback is likely. First support is near $4.90. Then comes $4.45, where the recent sell-off stopped. If $4.45 breaks, the bullish setup weakens and price could test $4.00. A close below $4.90 would be an early warning that the pullback is deepening. It helps to decide in advance how far price can move before changing your view.
Watch the daily close. A close above $5.65 turns the chart strongly bullish. A close below $4.90 is an early warning sign. Until NEAR holds above the top of this range, the safer view is that it remains stuck between these levels. The next few sessions should make the picture clearer.
