Aave has begun moving its mobile savings app into early access on iOS, though the rollout is still limited. Android and web users remain on the waitlist for now.
The company started onboarding users on Wednesday. Founder Stani Kulechov said Ghost Passes exist, which let people invite friends to skip the waitlist. That part is worth noting for anyone waiting.
What the App Offers
The product page describes the app as a savings tool. Users can deposit, earn yield, and withdraw. The app supports bank account and debit card connections. A stablecoin wallet handles deposits and withdrawals on Arbitrum.
Deposited funds go into lending pools. Interest paid by borrowers flows back to depositors. That is the basic model. No direct borrowing or user-directed trading is advertised on the current product page.
Aave has mentioned plans for card fees, asset swaps, and foreign exchange features, but those are expected in 2026. The company said earlier that swap and FX capabilities had not been built or cleared for launch. So if you are looking for a trading app, this is not that yet.
Stable Vaults are part of the savings layer. They support multiple stablecoins and can swap commonly denominated ones at one-to-one redemption. That is meant for savings, not general trading.
The app is described as self-custodial even with fintech-style login and recovery. The terms say the embedded wallet stores private keys locally. Aave Labs says it never takes possession of assets or keys. Smart accounts abstract wallet setup and gas management.
Access Remains Limited
The iOS waitlist had around 50,000 registered users as of July. Identity checks on the waitlist were available only to U.S. users at that time. The app is restricted in sanctioned and other listed jurisdictions. Aave’s launch post did not say which countries are in the early-access group.
The app builds on Aave Labs’ acquisition of Stable Finance in October 2025. Stable Finance’s team built an iOS app for stablecoin savings. Its existing app is being phased out, and its technology is now used in Aave products.
Stable Vaults now power the savings layer in the Aave app. They are also offered to fintechs that want to embed stablecoin yield.
Android and web users were still being sent to the waitlist as of Wednesday. So the early access is clearly a phased opening, not a full release. It will be interesting to see how quickly Aave expands access beyond iOS.
